Caroline and Face Lace

This is a guest post from blogger Caroline Topperman from girlintheyellowdress.com

I'm so pleased to be here on Lauren's blog doing a guest post. When she first approached me I knew right away that I wanted to do this but I had no idea what to post about. I spent a few days mulling it over.... We both have our love of dance in common and so I wanted to include some theatrical element, but what? Then it came to me, Face Lace! This would be the perfect excuse to finally try it out. I quickly ran over to my friends at Curlique to purchase some and get a rundown on how to actually wear it!

I fell in love with this product the minute I saw it. Lately lace is everywhere, on the runways and in the stores. No longer for our grandmothers, it's now modern and can be worn during the day or night. Well why not have some fun with it? Of course some of the face lace is very dramatic for everyday but what about a bit of lace around the eyes for the evening?

Most of us don't think twice about applying false eyelashes or a dramatic eye before going out so why not something a little more unique that will make you really stand out? Why hang out on the sidelines when you can be the star of the show? Ever since I can remember I've been performing on stage. At first it was just the typical ballet recital that most of us have participated in. This is when my love for the theater and everything it encompasses began. As I got older I began to take dance more seriously and even had the privilege to perform on a professional level with some wonderful dancers. These are experiences that will remain with me for the rest of my life and that I'm truly thankful for.

These beauties are quite literally peel and stick so there's no mess and you can reuse them to your heart's content as they come with extra double sided tape. I was a bit nervous about applying them but it was really easy. The only thing to remember is that they are very sticky and therefore a little finicky but I'm pretty sure even a 10 year old could handle them. Yes, that large golden piece is a bit over the top for most evenings but the smaller ones are very doable. It's no different than wearing a hat with a bit of a veil.
You just need to believe in the look and own it and they'll go as far as your imagination will take you!

A big thank you to Caroline for this lovely post!  Make sure to check out her blog at girlintheyellowdress.com

  7. So fun! I would also cut the pieces into smaller ones and make just tiny lace pieces around my eyelashes. Great post!

  8. Awesome post. When I think of lace I think of "Pride and Prejudice," my all-time favorite book. I think lace when done right is pretty. I dream of finding an occasion to wear a Pride and Prejudice-inspired dress. I actually got one at home that I drew, and my mom sew.
